With a varied love for many periods of music history, Mr. Whitwell presents solo recitals approximately three times per year, consisting of new works composed for him and works seldom heard in the trombone repertoire. Mr. Whitwell has dedicated his career to the promotion of the Trombone as a solo instrument, and in that spirit, the commissioning of new works. Composers from across Europe, and the whole of the United States have composed solo works for Mr. Whitwell, and the list grows with every new recital.
